Spiritual Healing Methods
Spiritual healing methods are as diverse and numerous as stars in the sky. I have written a memoir, Following the Whispers which traces my journey from brokenness to wholeness by learning to listen to the whispers of Spirit and chronicling my spiritual healing methods. My path encompasses numerous spiritual healing methods, which ultimately led me to a fulfilling life of inner peace and contentment.
From Judaism, which is my religion of birth, to Episcopalian, to Native American spirituality, to New Thought, and even Wicca, I participated in spiritual healing methods that contributed to my awakening consciousness. The patriarchal nature of Judaism and the Episcopal Church didn’t speak to me as spiritual healing methods. I was uncomfortable with Native American spirituality and their spiritual healing methods because I felt we’d taken enough from Native Americans already. Wicca, as one of these spiritual healing methods, worked for awhile, but I never could accept the term “witch.” Nor could I apply it to myself. New Thought philosophies come closest of these spiritual healing mehtods to fulfilling my needs. The spiritual healing methods they subscribe to include: there is no one path to God; we are all connected to God and to each other. Other messages, such as the one from Jesus that says, “Love your neighbor as you love yourself,” and “You have to be willing to lose your life in order to have it” also speak to my soul.
But ultimately, I had to find my own spiritual healing methods. They include meditation, creating ceremony and rituals for healing, walking in nature, and daily prayer. Following the Whispers follows my journey to find spiritual healing methods and reveals how the whispers of Spirit eventually showed me the way.
